Card Patterns Sketch 114
Wow, time goes by so quickly here! (a little shout out to my homegirl Dorothy chillin out in Oz...) I can't believe it's the middle of May already! It was my birthday last week and my three best friends planned a whole day of excellence for me, but Emily twisted her ankle before the first activity of the day even started! Now, she's with a boot and crutches for at least two weeks. So, we haven't gotten to scrap a whole lot for the past week or so. However, just in time, I managed to complete a Card Patterns weekly sketch. Butterflies have been so popular lately, and I haven't used them too much, so I decided to keep the sketch pretty much as is. I got these sparkly little beauties in Target's 99 cent scrapbooking area, so obviously I feel obligated to use them (the $5 blings, flowers, and brads, however, must stay in the stash!!!! so stupid.....) So, anyhoots, here is the sketch:
And here is my interpretation of it:
I love the colors fuschia and black together (is anyone getting that I LOVE hot pink??). The white paper is an OLD paper (over 10 years) that is embossed with little swirls--I rubbed it in some Distress Ink on my craft sheet to get the swirls to stand out. For the scalloped edge at the bottom of the horizontal strip, I used spiral paper clips. I created the black PP by stamping a swirly pattern in white. Finished off the butterflies with some bling and swirls made with Stickles!
I know my photos suck sometimes, so I'm trying to get better at those....so much to do, so little time.....
Hope you like and thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!
